Childbirth Classes Miami
and South Florida

Lamaze Class or Bradley Method? How Our Prenatal Classes Compare

MotheRetreat offers private childbirth education classes in Miami and across South Florida, in person at your home or online. Many families look for a Lamaze class or the Bradley Method: those are certified programs, and our modern format covers the same ground, from breathing and labor positions to newborn care, in about 6 hours split into 2 sessions. We practice hands-on and you can invite all your family members.

Many families take these classes alongside a birth doula in Miami, then continue with postpartum support in Miami once the baby is home. We teach across South Florida: Miami, Coral Gables, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and nearby cities.

Our birthing classes comprise four sessions, starting with a childbirth preparation class:

  • Childbirth Education Classes
  • Postpartum Education
  • Newborn Care
  • Breastfeeding Education

Flexible payment plans. Pay over time with Affirm — as low as 0% APR, interest-free plans available.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the classes take place?

At your home, privately, anywhere in Miami and South Florida. No group, no drive after work — just you, your partner and the instructor at your kitchen table.

Is this a Lamaze or Bradley class?

It is a modern, adapted childbirth class that covers what families look for in Lamaze or Bradley: stages of labor, breathing and relaxation, positions, comfort measures, the partner's role and the hospital process. It is not a certified Lamaze or Bradley course and does not issue those certificates.

When in pregnancy should we take the class?

Most couples take it in the third trimester, leaving a few weeks before the due date to practice. Earlier is fine too, and we can split the material into shorter sessions.

What is covered in the childbirth class?

Signs of labor, stages of labor and delivery, pain-relief options, positions and breathing, what happens at the hospital, the first hours after birth, and how your partner can help at each stage.

Is there a separate newborn care and breastfeeding class?

Yes. The new-parent class covers newborn care, safe sleep, soothing, bathing and the basics of breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Many families take it together with the childbirth class.

Is my partner included?

Yes — the class is designed for both of you. Partners leave knowing what to do during labor and in the first days at home.
