A blessingway is a ceremonial celebration and blessing for expectant mothers to celebrate the woman at the center of this journey into motherhood. A group of the mother’s closest friends and family will come together to celebrate more than just the upcoming baby, but the woman’s transition into motherhood as well! It is a day to completely honor the mother and celebrate this special point in her life!
This tradition comes from many cultures where the women would gather together to empower and support one another as they stepped into the role of bearing and raising children. It is a sort of rite of passage into motherhood that was passed down from generation to generation. The Navajo (Native American) tradition was specifically called a Blessingway- where the name comes from. The blessingway ceremony is a support circle for the expecting mother, with all of her most trusted and cherished women in her life.
Our Blessingway Ceremonies are designed to do just this! We adorn the mother with things like henna on her growing belly, flowers or braids in her hair, and a special outfit. Depending on what the mother prefers we can do group rituals such as writing affirmations and nurturing the mother with massage. We can get food, snacks and drinks all catered to the event as well. Each Blessingway is customized and we have many ideas to make this day special, and that the mother is always leaving full of so much love! This can go along with your babyshower, or instead!
Hi everyone. My name is Dasha. I am LMT (licensed massage therapist), CIMT (certified infant massage teacher), CLMT (certified pediatric massage therapist), also certified in prenatal and postnatal massages and infant massages. I speak fluently in Russian and English.
Since the beginning, I have always wanted to help new parents and finally I’ve found a great way. I created a 3 hour course where I teach you how to give massages to your kids with your own hands! In this course you will learn how to improve your baby’s health with massage in the safest way. I will teach you simple techniques so that you can learn to do the best job to support their health. Massage affects all systems of the human body: skeletal (reduces muscle tension and increases nutrient flow to bones), muscular (increases the flow of blood and nutrients to muscles, can increase or decrease muscle tone which helps with hypertonia or hypotonia), digestive (may relieve constipation /gas), respiratory by improving breathing pattern, and the nervous by relaxing and calming the baby.
Massage is one of the absolute best ways to connect with your baby, and enjoy a beautiful bonding experience together. Please join me to spread the love to all the kids around the world and show them what massage can do! Your baby’s health is in your own hands!
